This 40-year retrospective of over 125 paintings and sculptures by artist and writer Dr. Victoria King reflects how the places she has lived have affected her artwork. Spending time with Aboriginal women while volunteering at Utopia in arid, central Australia and the power of the natural environment made her question previous ways of seeing art and the land. Also on exhibit is her collection of over 40 Aboriginal artworks from Utopia. Victoria will give a free 2-hour talk about her artwork and Aboriginal art and culture on 13 February at 2 pm. She will also be at the gallery each Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.
Open Thursday & Friday 1-5, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 11-4. Phone: (0161) 474-4453.
NOTE: Entry to the gallery is via the Side Entrance.
The gallery is a 5-minute walk from Stockport Train Station.
