The current climate emergency necessitates us to not only reduce our consumption, but also reuse and recycle existing materials where possible. How are artists making their practice sustainable for themselves along with having as little impact on the environment as possible? How can art stimulate new ideas to address the global environmental emergency?
Reusable, recycled or waste materials can provide new resources for artists, they may be inspired to create works from found objects and give them a second life. Works of art can also invite us to take a new perspective on the material world around us and support conservation of the natural environment.
We are inviting artists living and working in London to submit artworks for our new exhibition, Reduce Reuse Recycle – Art and Sustainability. An exhibition of work created by artists in response to climate change that offers sustainable and imaginative solutions and minimizes the amount of waste and new consumption in the creative process.
The deadline for applications is 12am (midnight) Sunday 20th November 2022
Exhibition opens to the public from 18 January – 24 February 2023
