Alice Bradshaw – Collage Workshop (12.00 – 1.30 pm)
Create a paper collage representation of your favourite tat using historic labels from Bell’s Pharmacy in Leeds. Perhaps you have an ornament or an item no longer in use that you haven’t taken to the charity shop yet; an inherited item, a souvenir or unwanted gift that you can use for this creative exercise? If you haven’t got your own items, we will provide you a selection of objects from our collection. Simple collage techniques will be demonstrated and workshopped to create your own representation of your ‘tat’. No experience necessary. You may take your creations home with you or donate them to the Museum of TAT.
Clare Fisher – Creative Writing Workshop (2.00 – 3.30 pm)
Write creatively in response to items gifted to the Museum of TAT by Leeds Museums and Galleries. Writer and workshop facilitator Clare Fisher will guide a number of writing and discussion-based activities which will help you to connect imaginatively with the items. This workshop is open to both beginner and experienced writers.
Alex Harwood – Animation and Audio Recording Workshop (12.00 – 3.30 pm)
Collaborate to create digital cut-out animations inspired by objects from our collection of National Savings posters to be used in an artwork relating to the cost of living crisis. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the digital artwork by recording your personal experiences of the cost-of-living crisis in a short audio-only interview with Alex.
