Yoko Ono. Tate Modern.
Kind of Psycho Babble Drama Game, ‘Making of Strange’, embraced by the pseudo art intellectual, admin crowd in the 70’s. Great fun to be a part of back in the day in an arts participation kind
of way. If so called Contemporary Art is just about ‘the idea’ then there’s lots here to choose from and no doubting Yoko’s relentless commitment to churning them out. Something you can’t help but admire and respect her for.
My view is tinged by the thought that all Contemporary Art is contrived and intended to prey on young Artists insecurities in a symposium style power grab. As they used to say, “what Man you don’t get it”? Er yes, but. Art not linked to a Craft and considerations of the Aesthetic to me will never be art but a kind of mind game entertainment for Psychiatrists and Senior Lecturers. Never made a gallery visit where there were as many people smiling as looking curious.
You make of it what you will, take from it what you can etc.
