ART in the GARDEN started as a small fundraising weekend last summer. This year its a nine-day exhibition featuring dynamic sculptures, paintings and many other artworks of excellence. Initially a garden opening by Christie Arno at Tan House Newland, this year promises to be one of the most important exhibitions of contemporary art to be held in the Forest of Dean and is not to be missed! Many of the exhibitors are established national and international artists. Contributors can be seen by visiting the Coleford Area Partnership website www.coleford-area.org.uk. Sculptures on show in the gardens will include works in bronze, glass, metal, ceramic and wood.In the ‘galleries’ there’ll be paintings, prints, photographic works, ceramics, embroideries and mixed media. In short, an exciting exhibition in a beautiful village location. There will be art for every budget and a plentiful supply of light lunch refreshments, sandwiches, cakes and teas. Profits from the event (currently held in the Local Initiatives Fund) will support a range of arts workshops in local schools to bring a range of arts activities for children to enjoy and be inspired by.Such an achievement is only possible with the partnership provided by the Coleford Area Partnership and many volunteers. Local business has also given support led by a generous contribution from Jewsons, Coleford.”
