The first thing I’d like to share with everyone is the book ‘Letters to a Young Artist’ (an art on paper book).

The book contains 23 letters from established artists in response to a letter from a young artist struggling at the beginning of their artistic career in NY city.

In a variety of different ways the established artists reflect on their own practice and the lessons they have learnt along the way to offer the young artist advice on the commercial art world and how to maintain your artistic ingtegrity whilst still being involved in the art world. Artists write about the sacred space of the studio and the importance of keeping that space free for unimpeded play.

Its a gem of a book one of the ones that you can duck in and out of time and time again finding new snippets of invaluable advice and support everytime.
