The Jerwood Drawing Prize is the country’s leading award in drawing, and is thelargest and longest running annual open exhibition dedicated to drawing in the UK.Established in 1996 as the annual Cheltenham Open Drawing Exhibition it wasrenamed the Jerwood Drawing Prize when the Jerwood Charitable Foundationbecame the principal sponsor in 2001.Over 2300 entries were submitted this year for consideration by the distinguishedpanel of judges comprising of Tania Kovats, Artist; Roger Malbert, Senior Curator,Hayward Touring, Southbank Centre, London and Nicholas Usherwood, Writer, ArtCritic & Curator. The shortlist includes established artists as well as relativenewcomers and students fresh from art school.
