The ‘Trimester’ sculptural installation by local artists Helena Eflerova & Kye Wilson combines projected video with a tactile, felted canvas screen; creating an immersive space that invites the audience to enter and interact. The video shows Helena’s live performance exploring an underwater environment. The performance symbolises the narrative journey of a foetus in the womb, its interaction with its surroundings, and its happy and traumatic experiences during the three trimesters of pregnancy. Engaging the audience to experience and explore this weightless, unfamiliar environment with her. Helena Eflerova and Kye Wilson have created this work in response to contemporary issues concerned with multi-faith views on foetus development, behaviour and its capacity of memory. Preview: Monday 5th October 2009, 5pm-7pm (note: Space gallery closed Thursday 8th October between 12-4pm)
