Juliana Bellante’s work combines painting, drawing, sculpture, light and sound and uses her practice to prompt questions and create dialogue and critical discussion.Juliana has been commissioned by ESA and Leeds City Council (‘artforms’ Music + Arts Initiative of Education Leeds and International Relations) to run the education programme with Allerton Grange and Benton Park high schools in response to the project ENTER THE AMAZING VIRGINIA SHOPEL (ESA’s new commission by Dortmund artists Gudrun Kattke and Silvia Liebig.)Over 30 young people will spend two days with Juliana responding to the work by Kattke and Liebig exploring issues of re-unification and working across borders. The work created in the workshops will be exhibited, alongside German musicians in The Light shopping centre.
