Hatti McKenzie & Eva Mileusnic of McM Productions present “L.I.F.T.”, (Leeds Intimate Film Theatre), a surreal, uplifting, cinematic event integrating art installation, performance and public participation as part of Light Night 2009. For one night only, they have transformed a service/goods lift, located in The Electric Press building into a tiny, retro Picture House installation screening an entertaining programme of 90 second films selected for the audience’s edification, delight and amusement. Join Hatti and Eva as they perform the roles of Cheryl (Usherette) and Cyril (Projectionist) accompanied by two new ‘front of house’ performers and characters for 2009: Fiona Cook as Wendy (Box Office) and Ali McKenzie as Arthur (Commissionaire). This inept team of colourful characters will attempt to keep the Picture House functioning in between the lift’s ‘real job’ of providing regular service trips to the basement by screening two fifteen minute shows per hour. The shows begin at 7pm, through to the last showing at 12pm midnight. TICKETS ARE FREE – PRE-BOOKING ON THE NIGHT IS ESSENTIAL – Tickets are only available from the “L.I.F.T” Box Office located in the goods lift of The Electric Press building on Great George Street, Leeds from 6.30pm.
