ESA invites you to the opening of Tahera Aziz: [re]locate, the first commissioned exhibition in ESA’s new project space and studio space Union 105 in Chapeltown, Leeds. PREVIEW: Friday 20 November 2009, 6pm. ALL WELCOME. Dates: 23 November – 4 December 2009. Times: Monday – Friday, 12 – 5pm. Venue: Union 105, 105 Chapeltown Rd, Leeds. LS7 3HY. FREE ADMISSION – PLEASE NOTE: Union 105 is only fully accessible on the ground floor. [re]locate is a sound installation by London-based artist Tahera Aziz developed as a response to the tragic events surrounding the racially motivated murder of 18-year-old Stephen Lawrence near a bus stop in south London in 1993 and the deep impact this has had both privately, for the Lawrence family, and publicly. Alongside Aziz’ sound installation at Union 105, an accompanying exhibition at ESA’s Patrick Studios will visualise the creative process that led to the development of the installation.
