Black Dog Times is a carnivalesque winter wake to celebrate the last day of The Black Cloud, involving story-telling, puppetry and performance. Black Dog Times has been produced in collaboration by artists Heather and Ivan Morison with Lizzie Philps from Bristol-based Full Beam Visual Theatre. Welcomed by costumed performers at the edges of the park by torch-light, the audience will be invited to gather in The Black Cloud, under blankets and warmed by home-made soup, to hear a mythical story told through puppetry, inventive design and evocative music. The Black Cloud is a temporary public sculpture conceived by artists Heather and Ivan Morison for Victoria Park in south Bristol. Designed as a structure for the park in readiness for a hostile and inhospitable future and to shelter people from an unforgiving environment, the project has been commissioned by Situations at the University of the West of England, Bristol.
