Expressions in Light is a free to enter exhibition by international award winning photographer Michael Upstone. Wokingham-based since 1980, Mike exhibited this year at Cork Street in London, the Arles Rencontres Internationale and under Royal patronage in Morocco.Known for his head turning commercial and people photography, this exhibition features ‘in camera’ abstract / impressionist images and fulfils his artistic ambitions of ‘making photographs that look like paintings’ and ‘doing things that confuse other photographers’…The exhibition features a dozen images, recently exhibited at Cork Street in London, which are being displayed under the empty shop scheme, which aims to brighten up the town by filling empty retail premises. The scheme aims to encourage interest, enjoyment and participation in the arts, under the Wokingham Community Arts Partnership. The exhibition also features ceramics by Susan Day of Taplow, a regular at the Arts Bar on Wellington Road.Expressions in Light runs until Monday 14th December. There is an opening night party from 4pm on Wednesday 2nd of December and opening times are 4-6pm, daily – all are welcome!
