Hush House is a site-specific sound installation by Kathrine Sandys at the de-commissioned Cold War airbase, RAF Bentwaters, near Woodbridge. It is located in the Hush House aircraft hanger, but integrates the experience of journey to and through the site and landscape, as part of the work.The work explores our perception and pre-conceptions of Cold War architecture through journey and anticipation, and the personal memories we draw on. The building is animated through sound, giving a sense of presence. The work is located in a remote area and requires the use of personal or public transport.
