Jane Askey is a painter exploring floral subject matter through the still life. The resonance of objects and their associations with time and place are central to these contemporary paintings. A printed textile design graduate of Manchester Polytechic elements pertinent to textiles are central to her approach to painting: pattern, rhythms and echoes of colour are investigated with an intense sensitivity to space and balance.
