An international exchange of visual communication between two locations. The idea is simple… two groups of strangers exchange handmade postcards to communicate an interpretation of their country using creative techniques. The two locations are Lancashire in Northern England and Lahore in Northern Pakistan and the postcards are made using various methods and skills including painting, drawing, etching, collage, photography, digital imaging, laser etching and embroidery. This exhibition presents the work of Lahore based artists and forms the Pakistan half of the collection, showcasing interpretations on the theme of ‘This is Pakistan’. Both unique collections interpret each country by the artists who live and work there. Throughout the exhibition, the work by 60 British artists titled ‘This is England’ will be on display at The Beaconhouse National University Gallery in Lahore and completes the exchange. After the exhibitions, the two collections will be archived in shoeboxes in their respective locations. For further information contact William at [email protected]
