The Trebus Project celebrates the launch of ‘Tell Mrs Mill her husband is still dead’ with an evening of readings by Charlie Higson, Paul Whitehouse, Linda Robson, Arabella Weir, Brigit Forsyth, Felix Dexter, John Woodvine and Roise Cavaliero…… ‘Tell Mrs Mill’ contains 46 stories assembled from the fragmented memories of people with Alzheimers’s Disease and dementia. The stories range from dramatic eyewitness accounts of important historical events such as the London Blitz to darkly comic conversations about mortality, hair loss, hangover cures, Princess Margaret’s bloomers, and driving through a war zone with a tank of goldfish. Several stories communicate the struggle of living with dementia in episodes containing the contributor’s last spoken words…… “Time passes differently now… it’s just dementia next… a whole procession of full stops. I can ring the bell for hours and nobody comes… I’m not sure it works… I’m sure they would come if they heard it… wouldn’t they… maybe they don’t know I’m still here… we should give them the benefit of the doubt… they might think I’m already dead”. John”……. I can’t remember the history of me.” Sam…… Doors open at 7.00 for drinks. Readings begin at 7.30. Drinks at 8.30…… To reserve a seat contact [email protected]….. No admittance to the theatre without reservation…… www.trebusprojects.org
