The art on display, paintings, digital-collage and a film, forms a narrative around the way we see and understand the world. It is about illusion, belief and reality – and the fuzzy edges between these – informed by dialogue with a wide range of specialists working in plant pathology, genetics, health, nutrition and environmental studies. Assisted by experts, Forbes was able to witness the process of DNA analysis and learn how even the smell of a rose could be analysed. He literally saw the world afresh through a confocal microscope.
