Looking at colour, light and space for this series of work, I will be addressing aspects of an interior room. I have chosen to work on a room with a view of a brick wall.
To initiate this series of work I repeated images of room o.102. I feel repetition is a way to change the energy that builds up when grappling with an intuitive non-verbal idea, or a visual experience. It takes time to for the idea of things to become apparent. My work sometimes has a life of its own, and I stumble to keep up with it.
Representing the room, in its empty state through drawing and painting has been the main focus. However, I also have a distracting feeling that I need to bring objects into the space. I sense a tree in room o.102 might be interesting to work with. I have found a tree stump to place in the room, and bringing the outside inside feels like a path to follow. The sensation of chasing and stumbling after the work is growing.
