The man in the centre was mostly speaking while the women on either side of him did most of the singing. At first the sound seemed quite harsh to my ears but I found that after sitting with it for half an hour I got a better sense of the music and the way it incorporated action and dialogue into it. I also came to see how the woman in red was quite a subtle performer playing with the crowd, the location, the musicians and other performers at the same time. She made it look very natural when it was clearly quite a put together act.
