About the role 

As the Programme and Communications Assistant at a-n, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the work of our Marketing and Communications Manager and Head of Programmes. You’ll manage key administrative tasks including programme planning, event administration and processing bursary applications, and help execute our Marketing and Communications strategy. This role requires a creative thinker with an organised approach to deliver marketing tactics that enhance brand visibility, drive growth and boost member engagement, as well as ensure the smooth running of our programme.

About you

  • You’re inquisitive. You have experience in email marketing and social media. You enjoy exploring new trends and tracking insights. 
  • You like to do things right. You’re well organised and have excellent attention to detail when managing multiple projects, processing information, taking minutes and creating copy and assets. 
  • You’re a team player. You have excellent communication skills and are confident working collaboratively with a wide variety of people (whether face to face or on Microsoft Teams). 
  • You’re proactive. You’re good at multitasking. You can effectively manage your own time and like to use your initiative to problem solve. 
  • You’re connected. You’re interested in UK visual arts practices and would love to be part of an organisation that empowers artists to thrive.

Summary of terms

Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary:  £22,438 to £30,694
Pension: Access to workplace pension scheme
Annual Leave: 34 days p.a. (including statutory public and bank holidays) rising to maximum of 37 days relative to length of service.
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne. We operate a flexible hybrid/homeworking system. Travel between Newcastle and London offices will be required.
