Got side tracked by the stories people told me when sitting down at my table. I have come to the conclusion that the actual project of building this house is importand in the dialogues and I have to focus more during conversations. At the same time I don’t see the house itself as the art work but the process. Therefore the build is not just a catalyst for conversations. I do want to tap into people’s knowledge about this subject and take it on board.
When I was setting up another show in Matlock Bath, ‘land locked’, last friday it gave me a needed distance from the Austria project. I can see clearer again now.
I have got a good idea now of how I’d like to lay out the ground floor. I found this marvellous floating stairs that I imagine going up from the lounche area. I don’t want to put aside a lot of space for a staircase that often looks too bulky and is dead space. These ones I found are boards, glass or metal sheets that come out of the wall floating up to the next floor with possibly glass sheeting at the side. That also allows to have double hight in the lounche area which will give a spacious feelings to the area and adds light coming in not only from the front glass doors but also from above. The more glass at the south side the more energy to store.
