Well, here I am, w0budong installation in Manchester centre complete, staying in Salford with my youngest daughter and her partner, which is extremely convenient and a lovely chance to catch up with them both.

Many thanks to Andrew Dalton, www.andrew-dalton.com curator, art worker and print maker, who drove the van containing my painting and all the other bits of equipment into the centre of Manchester while I panicked that I had forgotten something.
We arrived at 3 Piccadilly Place after an uneventful journey which only entailed one slight detour when we searched for the lay by for unloading the van.
I am extremely happy to be able to report that the exhibition w0budong is now installed. It looks good and we are ready for the opening tomorrow morning and Jayne’s performance in the afternoon.
It was brilliant to finally meet all the artists and chat to them about their work. I am looking forward to continuing this as the week progresses.
Artists: Julie Brixey-Williams, Jayne Lloyd, Clare Smith, Catherine Wynne-Paton and me!
I have posted an album entitled “A little taster of w0budong” on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/SueGoughArtist
The PV is on Thursday, some of my family are coming to see the exhibition on Saturday and take me to afternoon tea! I will be there for the discussion/talk on Sunday, before it all comes down later that day and on Monday Andy will arrive to load up and drive me home with it all.
I am so releived that the exhibition is finally in place and really looking forward to the rest of the week.
I had a minor melt down this afternoon; trying to find the drawings that I knew were mounted and wrapped, that I will be taking to Manchester tomorrow for w0budong. I think my brain scrambled all the info inside it due to my stress. A panic stricken trip out to the studio to see if the portfolio containing the work was there was to no avail although my landlord and lady were there offering me massive encouragement; they both think I have acheived a lot in just two short years and I suppose they are right!
Anyway, I returned home feeling a bit dejected only to find the work I was looking for, in the rack where I put it but in a different portfolio to the one I had been looking for. . . Panic over.
My home made mini business cards were all completed on Friday and have been in the book press. I packed them up this evening and they are now in the pile of things I must not forget. Each card has an original w0budong drawing on the back and I hope people will like them.
I visited Leeds Artists’ Book Fair at Tetley on Saturday; it was really very interesting and I bought a few books to add to my budding collection. I will blog about this properly later in the week, when I have more time. All the stall holders were very talented, knowledeable and friendly, which made for a really enjoyable and informative afternoon. There were some stunning books on display and I wished I could afford to buy many more.
I have a neat stack of mini business cards, each with a “w0budong” related original drawing on the back. It has been an amazingly creative process making each of these tiny drawings; my thoughts have wandered and meandered, images of other artists’ work have come and gone. While this has happened, connections with other ideas or developments of the current ideas have emerged and faded. I will take some time tomorrow during a repeat of the process, to make some notes that I can refer to when I get back into the studio. I still have quite a few more cards to make and I am looking forward to the whole experience. The obsessive and repetitive nature of what I am doing at the moment seems to nurture the creative act.
I aim to place all the cards down on my white floor and photograph them before I head off to Manchester next week.
I have painted white one of the four breeze blocks on which my large painting is going to stand so another job for tomorrow is to paint the other three.
I need to find the drawings I am taking along with me as well and I shall have to clear my trestle table once work has stopped, because that is coming to Manchester too.
I must remember to make sure I have some clean clothes . . .
