Hello Everyone,Just a quick note to say this project seems to be producing some really interesting work. You are now reaching the point where you need to send your partner an image to respond to. It is envisaged that the project will finish in March sometime. I’ll discuss this with Michelle.
I would like you all to be able to come to our Print Symposium on 15th May part of which will be a panel discussion on the use of blogs in collaborative print projects, with representatives from this project, the postcard project, Le Cheile project, and Andrew Bryant, artist and editor of a-n Artists Talking, and Patrick Fox, Axis trustee member and Community Programme Manager at FACT in Liverpool.More details in our next e-bulletin from the centre.
You need to sign up to our mailing list to receive the e-bulletin. We will also post info on our fan page on Facebook

I have at last begun to get my ideas for this project into some sort of order. It is clear now how I want to proceed and I am currently cutting the different lino cuts to achieve the images I want. I would like to explore a multilayered idea with each layer evoking a sense of a place important to me from my past. I have cut 3 linocuts today and have 3 more tomorrow. I need to complete one colograph and screen print to begin to acheive the idea I have. Working with Don as my partner, looking at his work started me thinking of my time in Brunei, and the sense of place I had their. This has led by steps to where I am now.

I have been working on some ideas about the view from my window when I wake up and thoughts that go through my head. Life, family, work, news, politics, what I love, what annoys, hopes and dreams. I have a particular interest in these layers of life, the multiplicity and daily chaos. All going on as I gaze quietly outward.
The images here are an initial line drawing printed onto canvas and a then a layering of images – some drawn, some photographed and altered in Photoshop.
My partner is Kate Bruder from Glyndwr. We had an initial meeting before Christmas to say hello and talk about our individual work but otherwise agreed to work independently until we swop. I am really curious to see what she is up to.

Today has been one of those days. It's been like swimming through treacle. There is something there slightly out of reach. Changed media and have just been playing.
I have revisited my lino prints and decided that on their own they don’t convey enough of the experience, so I have decided to use fragments of them and also fragments of digital prints I took during the walk and things I collected or have made to act as mementos. I have also included text as a way of trying to express what I was feeling. These elements have been packaged into three smaller collections that overall convey the whole experience. I have packaged the individual collections into plastic ‘air packaging’ pockets for ‘safety’. I have included an inventory of the whole piece as a way of drawing it all together and will send it to Alma my partner this week. I hope she can get something from it! Louise Tett
