When I first explored the meaning of ‘Place’ my work explored human interaction with the land, historical remains, traces and memories.
In Sense of Place I am exploring how the power of a geographical place, or places can shape human emotion and psychological landscape.
Met Pam at the Print Centre yesterday to exchange images and talk about the project.
Our individual working methods are quite diverse, so the response should be really interesting.
My work explores the individual state of being, looking at issues relating to freedom and surveillance in contemporary life.

Have just got back from the Print Centre where Sue and I met to look at and talk about each others work. Lots of thoughts and ideas floating around my head now…Pam
The Tulse Luper's Suitcases project has been described by Peter Greenaway as "a personal history of urainium" and the "autobiography of a professional prisoner". It is structured around 92 suitcases allegedly belonging to Luper, 92 being the atomic number of uranium.

I'm totally blown away by the lino prints that Alison has produced for this project. It's been really great to share ideas and images and the project as a whole has kept me stimulated to produce work. There have been some insights too into my own work and my ways of working. I enjoy working with natural media but my real passion is to take the natural media into the digital world and play with it there.I seem to be increasingly exploring the dark side.
This is a gum arabic version of Short's cottage. The cottage is a derelict building next to my mother in laws house in County Tipperary. I think this version of the image has the beginings of a narrative that might be worth further exploration?
