Wow! The opening went so well, and the exhibition looks great! Lots of people
One more day to go!
If you are in the area stop by for the private view tomorrow: 6.30 9pm, 25a Vyner Street, London
I got some good scans of my drawings today, as attached, but check out my website for the full set
Just thinking about tackling my statement, why do I find it so intimidating and difficult? I am comforted that everyone seems to find it hard but it is frustrating!!
It is the last few day before the exhibition opens. Yesterday I finalised a lot of drawings, so I have about 12 to choose from for the show. Today I will install the plug pieces and maybe do some more drawings.
Twitter is fun, although i can see myself getting really sucked in, like all thing internet!
Just reviewing my CV, I should write a statement for the show too….
A few days to write about…
Gallery Visits on Saturday, and what a good day we had of it!
Sumarria Lunn has a stunning exhibition on, Programming Myth by Adam Dix and Tim Phillips. It is about a notional religion, with painting and artifacts, they combine the language of faith with the high business world of communication technology. Beautifully made, subtly evocative and totally enthralling, I highly recommend you catch it.
Doodled round some other places but ended the day with Polly Morgan’s show at All Visual Arts. Again, enchanting, beautiful and complex. She has created a parallel mythical world were natural history has been skewed, but some how it still all make sense.
Took Sunday easy, but of course I can’t walk past a gallery without putting my head it, checked out Free Range and there was one stand out for me there, Sophie Carters project NSA were she engaged in the world of swingers websites, and documented her interactions with people and also travelled to take portraits. Personal, challenging and fascinating.
We had a lecture Monday morning about all things social network…. so, I have joined twitter…. @jemmajwatts… not really sure what the hell to tweet though!
