I have started doing some larger water colour images. I painted on brown paper, as I through that it would make an interesting contrast with the bright paint and darker brown. Using that medium just made it harder to see the paints.
So next time I will use lighter colour paper so that I can see the images on the paper better. Also I could use different types of paper to see how if affects the way the paint lay on top of the surface. This would make an interesting activity to do.
Another problem that I find was that the colours did not show up very well. Due to the brown of the paper, but also because of the way I mixed them. I need to work on adding more water so that I can make the colours richer, so they can become clear on the page.
This way I will be able to create a greater depth with them and make the work look more real and effective.
Need to practice more with painting with a brush so that I can make the people look more 3-D, rather then flat.
One thing that I will put in to the work is themes which appear in stories often such as love, danger, plain and cowardice.
These will help to plan out the story and make it interesting. Need to keep the plot going and not run out of ideas. Which is one of my main concerns.
Also need to think how to make it fun. So the viewer can enjoy it and I hope they will be entertained.
I am now starting to think about were to take these ideas that I have been developing them through my drawings.
I need to start producing the drawings for the final film as it will take a long time to create every scene.
The film will start with the couple meeting and falling in love. They live in a small town were people usually get along and work well together as a community.
The couple part, both heartbroken after a massive upset about the man not being able to confront the trust about who he is.
Then comes the danger and action, as a evil force comes to the town.
The large scale charcoal drawings are helping me think about how to dress the characters. What types of clothing styles I want the characters to have.
The image of dress that I feel is the most suitable, would be a smart clothing range.
The lady will appear in dresses, and smart tops with skirts. The other main character, the nice man who falls in love with this lovely lady. Will wear suites and ties.
I have made them have nice outfits to wear. This shows that they can enjoy a good standard of living. As they work hard and the man has developed a good business for himself and the lady he loves.
My large scale charcoal drawings are to help me think about how the love story will unfold and how the characters emotions will unfold through out the narrative.
I loved having a large piece of paper to explore on. Always been a little scared to have a large space to cover, but I really enjoyed the experience. As it enabled me to draw a much larger image of the couple in love.
I felt it helped me gain more experience with placing the body parts correctly, to their scale in size.
