Yesterday we held another meeting. Which, I would like to point out, started at 1 and didn’t finish till 4!!! Hence not much actual work was produced. But it will all be worth the time and effort soon enough.

The core committee for Seventy Feet (myself included) have decided to ask for applications from the rest of the group for who would like to curate the show. We have decided we need more than one person on the job and so students can apply in a group of 2 or 3 or individually.

Our project space is being curated separately (excitement) though obviously in close partnership with the curation of the rest of the show. Currently there are three main people organising project space with perhaps a few more (depending on who is interested). This of course is a space where we can all do something interesting in if we want.

I’m not going to spill the beans too much as we want it to be a surprise. But we are excited about it and so you should be too!

Sponsorship letters are being sent out this week – anyone out there interested in sponsoring us please do not hesitate to get in contact!

Preparations for the Pub Crawl and Spring Fling are underway.. I hear a lot of crazy things are happening on the pub crawl (Cross country? Climbing over fences/walls? Tresspassing?? Noooo..surely not) and there is a jazzy dress code for the Fling (maybe some interesting dancing from some of the guys…hmm…)

Posters will be up soon.

Otherwise we will make sure to keep you posted..

So, its March and we are starting to panic. So much work to do and still lots of fundraising and events planning to do.

We literally need thousands of pounds for the Free Range Show (little bit over priced perhaps) but then we are worth it.(?)

Today the team have been getting the blog in order, our Artist of the Week has been posted – Jenny Cooper- and we have written lots of sponsorship letters. Hopefully this will all pay off.

To keep you in the loop, before Easter we’ve got Spring Fling on 14th April at the Cork in Bath and a ridiculous, traditional BSAD Pub Crawl on the 8th April.

And for May we have Komedia on the 17th with live music from With Love From Humans and others, Itchy Fingers closing the night and much much more – art being one of the key elements (obv)!

As for art work – I think the fear has kicked in and the studios are filling up.

And in case any of you are wondering why SeventyFeet – there are 35 artists involved in this years BathSpa Free Range Show.
