still working on my website…its feeling a lot more full than it did but still has a few design features which are bothering me…

also been finalising things on User:x2/Minimal.communication/aesthetic/production.EXH

with flowlosopha and it is coming along really well…speaking to various people about showing it including a NO:ID Gallery show and we’re sending an application to show it at stockholm fringe festival as well

we’ve done one photoshoot already (see pic’s) and theres another one planned for sunday 27th… more info there when there is some!!!

i’ve started on a piece of work called CIRCUITre:NAVIGATION which consists of an aestheticlly modified nintendo gameboy attached to a sat nav window mount device (again see pic’s) with the V-RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION game inserted. I’m not sure if its going to be installed on a car windsheild or a large format monitor with video footage taken from a moving car…but i’m feeling good about both options!!!

Just got back from a few days in blackpool as well which was great, ORBITECTURE at the grundy art gallery was an excelent show and the themepark-ness of blackpool generally gave me some ideas…

its not finished (gimme a few days)… still feels really good to have a website live.

I’ve also designed and ordered a rubber stamp which i’m planning on using on all letters, business cards and all other analogue communications…for that personal touch!!!

Today was also my mid-point review which was alright actually!!! I installed a few things too high on the wall (i’m a tall chap) which i need to stay aware of… it was also really intresting to see how people interacted with my work… AND the things they didn’t

The NMD festival finishes tomorrow…i’m feeling good about the work and the experiance of it as a whole!!! So, thought i’d post up some of the responses i’ve received to the text messages i’ve been sending out…

Today is the first day of NEWMEDIA DAET FESTIVAL 2011 it runs until sunday and theres plenty of content online as well as there being installations in Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines…

PHYSICAL:VIRTUAL:FREEDOM TEST RUN

I’ve had a really intersting week…

Stuff & Nonsense was a brilliant show and some of the things people were showing were amazing!!! no photos yet (damn camera batteries) but i’ll post some next week!!! The staff show it was running alongside was really good as well…

I’ve been fairly busy in the workshops this week as well… I made the A1 print I talked about in my previous post and I also made the metal book shelf I discussed for the book of source code I’ve made. My perspex was delivered as well so I started work on that, their now cut into marker shapes and are hanging in my studio!!! I’m currently working out how all the objects should sit in relation to each other as an installation.

Been getting a little technical as well… I’m now the owner of ryan-hughes.co.uk although have done nothing with it yet but have made a few layout designs I’m feeling good about. I have also been really busy working on NewMedia Daet 11 festival which we’re running a test of tomorrow morning and then goes live on tuesday and runs until sunday (1st – 6th of feb) follow the festival over at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001255475994&ref=ts and I’ll be posting more about my work over the course of that week!!!

I’ve also been cleaning the studio for the formative review – it almost looks new again!!!
