I’ve recently developed a new pastime, which involves making designs for elaborately expensive art shows I would like to curate. These are not exhibitions I would ever imagine being in a position to develop (and indeed some of them are explicitly impossible), but I find this game to be a fun, and useful, exercise nonetheless.
I was telling Louise Carreck, one of my managers at the Barbican, about this game recently, and triggered by my work on CAMERA CATALOGUE we started to make a list of commuting-based works that we would include in a group show, to be presented alongside the outcomes of this research. So, for your consideration:
