This was a self-directed, unfunded project, devised after completing my MA in fine art.
I used the V&A as my studio, my place to think, write, research, study and to make work.
I have a long personal history with the V&A, starting when I went to music college round the corner decades ago, and used to skip theory classes to come and laugh at the distorted Renaissance ceramics.
I walked and listened, drew and scrutinised.
I am a moving image artist, and made a piece of work using video footage, sound and drawing.
As work to share and disseminate from the residency, I devised a downloadable, cut out and curate project, the Facsimile Box.
Residencies seem to vary as much as the places they happen, so I devised my own project, having realised I have been working like this anyway for some years.
I seem to have put it all together and made a model of working which is ideal for me.
