More than eyes can see…
Last Wednesday I was thinking about the chap from Chad I hadn't seen for about a year. I employed him for garden projects and he gave me an unique insight into life and the turmoil in his country.
That same afternoon he knocked on my door to say hello.
On Friday I was thinking about the chap from Sudan I used to employ for garden projects, he gave me an awareness of the genocide and suffering in his country.
On Saturday morning he appeared at my door.
Later that morning we drove to Barnes to have coffee with Emily's Goddaughter Agnes and her parents, Nicola and Rhidian.
Rhidian with his family had not long returned from Africa, where they'd lived in HIV/AIDS epicentres.
Rhidian is a regular contributor to BBC R4's Thought For The Day and is an award winning novelist and a screen and short story writer.
His new book has further inspired me to paint with wide open eyes…
