So I have been working with Equal arts and as it is Arts Dementia Week coming up I thought I’d post a link to a video of the kind of work they do with older people. They are also a good organisation to know, as they often have call outs for artists to work with them. The work they do unlocking the creativity in older people is especially amazing.

here is video of day
I have been on a PhD looking at the role of game structures for participatory artworks. I have developed this project, that looks at how perhaps gaming principles of Mechanics and location through something called the Magic Circle can be of use to participatory artworks in public locations. This work, is a recalibration of Paper Scissors stone, with new elements, that are created through sign language, and it uses giant mech hands too, imaginative props to bring participants in. It is hoped to be meaningful, so they get a taste of a subject they can use outside of the gameplay. Would really appreciate any feedback etc, and the chance to do this again elsewhere.
Wnat to share this work, it is part of the Creativity Matters programme, which saw older people taught to do creative workshops. It shows the joy of creativity.
A nice short docu showing the work of HenPower, who use hens in care home setting with residents to inspire their creativity.
