Alice Bradshaw – Echoes (2019) 04:51, looped
Echoes is Alice Bradshaw’s latest film featuring coffee and ink drawings overlaid with abstracts of audio interviews conducted at Queensgate Market by Stephanie Pogson. The drawings are a new series of work centring on Alice’s research and development into dialogue and are produced as daily reflections on everyday conversations. Featuring coffee and ink, printed bubble wrap repeated motif and automatic writing, the drawings capture a personal narrative which resonates with the selected interview quotes.
Alice Bradshaw is an artist, curator and writer. She is interested in discarded, everyday materials and words. Recycling and repetition are important strategies in her work, which sets up a dialogue around the value of rubbish through objects, publications, exhibitions and events. Alice runs Art Lab at Dean Clough – a monthly artists’ presentation and discussion event – and co-directs Dwell Time the Huddersfield based arts publication reflecting on mental wellbeing. She is currently a Compass Live Art development bursary recipient with a focus on dialogue in practice.
