My youngest has finished preschool for the summer and starts school in September. She is like a sponge soaking up information and asks incessant questions. She repeats questions to make sure of the answers.
“Is it the summer holidays, mummy?”
“Yes”
“Are we going on holiday?”
“On Monday”
“Am I on holiday?”
“You’ve finished nursery and on summer holiday now but we go on family on Monday.”
“Are we having a holiday at home?”
“No. Yes. It’s the summer holidays now, but we’re not going on our family holiday to the seaside until Monday.”
“To the seaside?”
“Yes.”
“With sand?”
“Yes!”
“Will we have the sand at our house.”
“No.”
“Not on summer holiday?”
“Only on our family holiday when we go away. To a holiday house. Not here.”
“Will it be summer on our family holiday?”
“Yes. It’s summer until you go to school in September. In six weeks.”
“Are we going on family holiday til September?”
“No. Summer holidays until September, family holiday for a week at the seaside.”
“With fish and chips?”
“Yes. But better.”
