The main focus was on the quantifiable validity of “soft and fluffy” arts programmes for competitive funding. What language do we use to articulate the value of arts to the funders and who translates the “soft and fluffy” into economic impact? Perennial problems to which cross-sector dialogue continues to be the key. Who facilitates this though and with what agenda? “Networking meetings” reside in the soft and fluffy realm for practitioners across sectors but they are actually pretty crucial on some level.
