Had meeting with an official from Scion House, in the Business park attached to Stirling University. They have thrown open an invitation to local artists to use their ground floor to hold exhibitions.
Well, they have been inundated with requests. I have got a slot for a solo exhibition – one year hence!
I find it a curious dilemma- having to wait a year to show my work while I can put it up on the net in a matterr of seconds.
Well, I have just completed an application for funding for a sound installation this summer in the Trossachs. A former colleague of mine, Rob Mulholland, Glasgow School of Art, is organising a sculpture trail and inviting artists to submit proposals.
(Our local arts officer came up trumps – very helpful – she had been away sick hence the delay).
Oh yes and Stirling University Business Park are inviting artists to submit ideas for their art gallery.
So, it is all go …despite the snow.
Am in final stages of proof-reading etc. in other words I am coercing friends to read the manuscript for me. Dr Reeves in London has also got an entourage of readers lined up, including academics. Sometimes I wonder how on earth a book ever gets published.
Now got a launch date for the book: May 1st. It had to be put back a couple of weeks cause things were behind schedule.
