Have joined Twitter, or rather resurrected an old account when folk started to say they were following me.

Also discovered thaat I can update my blogs from my Iphone which is great. No longer tied to the computer. Except for this blog…
Decided not to submit work to the annual exhibition of the Society of Scottish Artists, variety of reasons triggered by fact that I will be in Wales for my book launch at the time of submission though they did agree I could submit digital images for selection.
Can't help feeling though that these annual exhibitions are now rather arcane institutions….you spend several hundred pounds having work framed with no guarantee that it will be accepted. In fact the odds are stacked very high that it will be rejected because they are inundated with submissions even if you are a professional member ( as I am) and pay your annual £50 fee.
Somehow all this doesnt fit in with the digital world we live in. Notice today that the Tate gallery are putting all their work on Itunes!….for free.
Now that looks like a really interesting project
Craigynos Castle tell me that 76 people have already booked in for the lunch to launch our book:"Children of Craig-y-nos".
And we still have three weeks to go!
Meanwhile delighted to see that the Society of Scottish Artists are prepared to accept digital submissions this year , albeit only for very large pieces of work.
Still it is a start.
Have joined Twitter. Find my daily "tweets" under the name of Titchtwitter.
If I thought my involvement with the book "Children of Craig-y-nos" was over until the launch on May 1st then I was very mistaken.
The past few weeks have been hectic- what with final proof-readings, sending out invitations to the launch – though Carole Reeves, my co-author at the Wellcome Trust has borne the brunt of all this and I have been involved more in the "mopping up" operation, checking out addresses etc. We have several hundred people to contact.
In fact everyone who has contributed in some form or other to the project.
Now the orders for the book are starting to roll in with folk ringing me up wanting to make certain that their copies will be reserved on the launch day, May 1st in Craig-y-nos Castle.
Just back from Egypt. Got message on my Iphone that another proposal had been rejected. Grrr….
Anyway snapped this image outside a fish restaurant in Sharm El Sheik.
Waiting to see proofs of book. People already registering for a place at the launch on May 1st at Craig-y-nos Castle even though we have not officially informed people yet.
Word travels like wildfire through the Welsh valleys…
How do we know what's real and what isn't? and does it matter?
I made this video "The real one trick pony" outside Petra. ( view it on Youtube. ..quickest way is through my web-site:www.annshaw.net "Ann's films on Youtube" – link at top of blog.)
As the boundaries between our real lives and our virtual lives online become ever more blurred I find the question just as difficult as : what is art?
I leave it to you whether this video clip is genuine or a bit of computer fakery….or a combination of both.
