Had a wonderful walk in the snow yesterday: took loads of pix. People are dying in Russia because of extreme temperatures and we here have the luxury of looking out on sunshine, snow and picturesque scenes.
I don’t know how to think about this.
My project seems vain & self-indulgent in comparison.
I seem to be falling into a pattern – posting once a month! Funny how social media can ensnare you, make you feel guilty about not checking in regularly!
Despite illness (now completely gone – hooray!) I managed to get my exhibition work done, and one funding app. in. ‘Dogged determination’ I think it may be called, and not wanting to fall short of my own goals.
One piece – a two page comic story (an adaptation from a short story by Robert Aikman) is in ‘Adventures in Comics’, a show at Marine Studios in Margate, see marinestudiosadventuresincomics.wordpress.com/ and my Wave Work in ‘Elements’ at the Pie Factory in Margate (open Tues 7th- Wednesday 8th 11- 4pm) Great exhibition this – a last minute fill-in for a cancellation – nothing better to get you going after a Xmas break!
I’m really looking forward to experimenting more this year, and getting the chance to write, as I realise how important it is to me. I have no idea what I’ll achieve, but it’s FUN!
Next jobs: update my website – that badly needs doing, and off to Cornwall for a week to pursue the waves- if we don’t get more snow. It’s never more peaceful and magical than when it snows, and you feel cut off – hope it lasts just a little longer.
Meanwhile some pix from Elements>
