for the last six months i’ve been recording electricity demand on the first monday of the month. i have no idea how i’ll use the data. for now i’m recording and that’s as far as it goes.
i find it hard to ignore the debates about fossil fuel and at the same time am so bored with what is said about it.
personally i work hard and encourage the family to do the same at minimising the use of energy in the home. little things like asking the children to switch off their bedroom lights when they come down for dinner. i even calculated how much we could save if we switched off the kettle once it had started boiling instead of waiting for the auto switch thing to happen. i timed the kettle and saw it was 14 seconds of extra electrical usage each time…
in other research i discovered there are 165 million cups of tea drunk per day in the uk.
today i’m wondering if my late night i still with me as it’s been a slow to get going day. this does sometime happen. it’s a bit like watching the darts players having a mid game lull in their scoring.
it’s been quite lovely though despite this, we’ve had an email from an artist interested in our corridor projects. she asked to be added to our interested practioner email list. i was flatered that she thought we’d have such a list. the use of twitter and facebook has meant that so far we have not developed such an email list. i’ve written back to her and wait to see how the conversation develops.
i was also really pleased to see this blog included in the blogs monthly update email from a-n. being selected like that still excites me so a big thank you to a-n for the inclusion.
