Layering up enlarged letter ‘a’s copied from notes, letters and postcards people have sent me, I notice, not just how much variation there is in the way people form the letter, but also the movement in their gestures and in the layered drawings.
I’m trying to make a series of 15 or so for my open studios later this month and considering seeing if I can get some prints of them done to sell.
Jayne Lloyd is a multi-disciplinary artist with a practice that is often collaborative and participatory. She holds a BA and MA in Fine Art and is currently a PhD candidate at Royal Holloway, University of London, researching inter-disciplinary arts practices in care settings. She has exhibited widely and completed residencies and site-specific commissions in both the UK and abroad. Along side her own practice, she has 10 years’ experience in community engagement, development and facilitation roles.
