I love your wire drawings Elena. I enjoy working in wire too, but I cant let myself be free enough to draw with it, we did a session when I was doing mydegree using wire in a life drawing class and I was rubbish, I was using it to make a sort of very small mannequin when the idea was for it to sort of be flat still. I just couldn’t do it! I do like constructing with it though, using it to sort of bind prints together, I do this a lot, some of it successful and some of it not! I don’t feel I’ve completely found my way with it yet.

Here’s more, some from my Elena and Franny ideas and some from my ‘jot it down before you forget’ sketch book. The ideas are often things I think I can use for both me or/and us anyway and even in my head often overlap or become the same thing. Weirdly I drew a pattern idea for our ptb and whilst going through my jot it down sketch book I found almost the same sketch!

Okay, don’t laugh! I don’t like showing sketch book work, I’m a maker and the main reason I don’t really sketch is that without heavily annotating what I draw I haven’t got the foggiest idea what I’ve drawn or what I was thinking when I go back and look over what I’ve done!!
This is early stuff when I was first thinking of working with microscopic type images. I only have a few pages and then I gave up because I need to be making maquettes instead!

The wiggly lines/cells and skin, I had pictured as a screen people could walk around. I quite like the idea of an installation of a number of screens through which we can see or not see, communicate or not?
Franny’s mattress support could be displayed as a screen too?
