We had a very interesting talk today by an established Welsh artist called Chris Griffin. It was fascinating to see how his work had developed and the influences that he drew from to create his art. It made me reflect upon my own studio practice and think about the art I wish to produce and the ongoing dilemma about creating marketable paintings verses creation of ones own driven work which may not be marketable at all!! An ongoing point to be considered all the time.

I feel the ideas of perception on which I based my object for the module 'Ritual and Ceremony' have strong links with my topic for my dissertation and also my own studio practice.
I had the assessment for the unit based around 'Ritual and Ceremony' today. I feel it went well. I am looking forward to the feedback. I really enjoyed working in sculpture since this is not a medium I have explored very much before and since it's a departure from my use of paint.
Good week at college. Object for 'ritual and ceremony' progressing well. Perception machine evolving.
This week I have been finalising my proposal for my studio practice for the rest of the year.
I will continue with paint and plan to concentrate on form and perspective within the composition.
I am thinking about what I really want form and perspective to do and how I can use them more successfully in my exploration of organic growth and natural forms.
