I had a peer group crit today and I feel that my ideas and work are all coalescing. Focus is good. Banners are now in the process of being printed and health and safety is as ever getting in there somewhere. I have started some paintings linked to my banners which I am excited about.

I didn't realise that the banners would take up some much energy! Decisions, decisions. How and where I will hang them will affect the positioning of the eyes in the canvas and that inturn will affect the final image. Not to mention should there be a white border around the image or should the image fill the entire canvas. Now onto my small portraits!

I am very excited today since I have just taken my final design to the banner printers. I thought it would be all over now but decisions are still required!!

I have now attended the third session of my business start up course. Investigating different routes for my career once I graduate. It has been a real eye opener looking at the application process for Arts Council Grants. We have had a talk by a local gallery owner who helped us consider how to best promote ourselves and gave us a valuable insight into what galleries are looking for when artists approach them.

Trying to make my final decisions regarding colour composition for my banners. I find colour such a mine field. The more I explore – the more complicated it gets. I think I should just stick to my gut reaction and go with what I think looks right. Anyway, I've got to decide by the end of this next week because the work is due to go off to the printers. My next challenge is to begin my painting which relates to the banners. Never a dull moment!
