It’s so good to be reminded I am on the right track. I will write about how as an artist I’m able to survive, what I’m involved in, process and evaluation.

So yes although I create works, exhibit nationally & internationally, sell and teach I still need to be reminded to keep it fresh. I really look forward to inspiring others to keep going and don’t give up. Be proud to be an artist.

Is this magic? ‘Buon Fortuna’ hand made canvas umbrella installation has another addition. The green paint has added another dimension to the project. Keeping to the same method of dropping paint from above as if raining good luck has resulted in the perfect star – magic. The paint has formed the most amazing effect on top of the first black paint (see previous image). The spiritual element i tend to seek out in my work has surfaced and thus for now resolved as a place of shelter and good luck.

The important thing is to make time to create. Space in your head to get on with the project at hand.

How I achieve this is to go back to the timetable tool / discipline and it absolutely works! I now have allocated blocks of time for all that is important and achievable as a mother of three, wife and artist…agreed there is lot to juggle at home & work and not much spare time but on the other hand now I get increased time in the studio, research periods, gallery visits and networking events (ZAP A-Z programme, my Umbrella Painting Installation and London Overspill Exhibition by James Smith at City Gallery Peterborough to name a few)

A good old fashioned list is how I get through a busy day. Tick off and get things done. I make sure the whole day can fit on to one post it (achievable) and the list may also have scheduled studio time…it works for me! It’s just one of the many ways I survive at being a practicing professional artist, mother, and wife.
