Helen is a visual and socially engaged art practitioner/researcher based in Stourbridge, West Midlands, who is studying for a Masters in Research (creative practice) at Shetland and Orkney colleges. Her work is primarily concerned with place and the in-between; natural, cultural and historical landscape, interconnectivity and social relations, with a particular interest in that which is commonplace but unnoticed, overlooked or seemingly insignificant. Helen’s art-based research utilises a range of collaborative, interdisciplinary processes including collection, assemblage, installation, video, correspondence and dialogue, exploring the intersection between visual art, archaeology and social practice. Helen has an MA in Art and Social Practice.
