Thanks for the sunshine!!

Gargantuanna is far too big to fit in an oven as i have contructed her as one piece rather than seperate pieces to join later

thankfully the sunshine is really helping to “cook” her hope it stays………….

I have finally started on my final piece for my degree show………….

Continuing my previous work I am using dough as a metaphor for domesticity, inspired by Rabelais’ Gargantua, a giant that “pees” on the people drowning thousands, I thought, wouldn’t it be fun if Gargantua became Gargantuanna!

Alluding to Kristeva’s theory of the female wild zone and the concept of the unruly woman I wondered how the scene would be received if the “pisser” was a woman? I giant wine swilling peeing woman made from dough

(pic to follow tomorrow)

In another piece I am constructing a transcription of Susanna and the Elders

this too is influenced by carnivalesque visual imagery.
