Days till degree show – 3
Today seemed to be the day everything fell into place. Despite some grizzly tears at around 10am due to a dodgy transformer for our lights everything else seemed to fit into place, just at the right time! We got shelves fitted, gloves hung, projectors installed, first coat of floor paint down and did the nightmare lights!
Our housemates (they study Graphics, boo) completed everything today at 5pm. It must be strange knowing that's it, there's nothing else you can do. I imagine it'll feel like an empty void, nothing to work towards and nothing to do. Must feel like a bit of an anti-climax too, there's no explosion or fireworks it's just time passing. It is exciting though, as the start of our artistic lives is about to begin, i can't wait to start making work outside of the art institution and understand the real importance of our practise. It's going to be fun.
It's still suprising how easy some people seem to be taking it, considering this is the show their whole degree has been building up to, a little more oomph wouldn't go a-miss!
