Inspiration towards my Art Intro
So my connection with between English and China culture really began with talking in a Skype kind of way with Chinese people and i began to know quite a mouth full of info about what they celebrate and believe in and what kind of education these good people have. It was so inspiring for me to learn more about these people and at the same time i am gaining a better understanding to what life really is about. I meet one special girl who was very eager to learning English from me a lot so we began talking and trust building.
She taught me Chinese as much as i would teach her English and it was like this connection between us from one side of the earth to the other passing each other information that is totally different and different time zones but exactly the same time this is happening to us. after a while we built a strong relationship with each other in the end that we became a couple in the end. Before starting my university in Ipswich studying my Bachelor in fine arts we had already been together for over 9 months and we both thought that it was the right time to try see each other.
So i decided that i should go see her during my studies and the idea of going to see her in China for the first time really excited me so much. I was more than prepared for an adventure of a life time with my girlfriend to see some good rural and modern places together. These were the beginnings of my art ideas. The Connection between China and England is really important to me, the fact that we are all in different time zones.
When I was quite young, I always believed in China to look like the old days just like in the movies of Jet Li and Bruce Li but actually for my first time seeing China in a city, I was baffled and surprised to see how China had changed from rural to modern environment. I mean when I say this, I always thought they were modern in technology and stuff but I never thought I would see most rural areas bulldozed to make way for new high rise apartments and offices.
Not like London or Berlin where they would try preserve every old building and maybe build the odd new office block or apartment on some unused land. There were a few good old sites preserved in the city but I was quite surprised to see how they developed their cities over the years because of the many people needing the space to live and work. It was very exciting to see the future right in front of my eyes and just wanted to explore every part of the city even the very old parts.
