Following on with my work into re-piecing and re-assembling the landscape, I recently showcased a triptych of works titled ‘Seismic Shift’ in this year’s Liverpool Art Fair 2015.

A central event in the Liverpool art scene, the Fair showcases artwork of around 100 regional artists in the heart of the Baltic Triangle on Stanhope Street. Its position near to Arena Studios affords it a special place in a ‘happening area of contemporary art’.

Liverpool is a city alive with possibility, and opportunity, for artists. Key events such as the Fair, the Liverpool Biennial and John Moores Painting Prize all play their part in the growth, stability and excitement in a city buzzing with arts and culture. They help to create a dynamic arts scene which can rival other cities.

So it was great that my new series was chosen to be a part of this exciting event. These works have taken on a sculptural quality not only in the shape of the paper and the mixed media used (including acrylic, collage, gloss paint, spray paint, luminescent glitter and soft pastel) but also in the pinning of pieces together.

I’m glad this year’s Art Fair was a success and look forward to its fifth incarnation in 2016.
